Luscious Lashes – Without the Harmful Chemicals

There was a time when I bought the cheapest makeup I could find. Now don’t get me wrong, I am all about good deals and budgeting! But as I’ve learned more and more about all of the chemicals around us and the havoc they wreak on our bodies, I have become much more cautious about what brands of products I put on my skin.

Fast forward to just a couple months ago when I learned about Beautycounter.

Beautycounter’s mission is “to get safer products into the hands of everyone.” They have a list of over 1,500 harmful chemicals they promise to never use in their products. At first, I was skeptical. I am continually wanting to use healthier products, but do Beautycounter products really work as well as they say? I am happy to report – I am so pleasantly surprised!

The first product I purchased was their Volumizing Mascara.

Honestly, when I first pulled out the brush/wand, I was nervous about the shape of the brush. I’ve been using Maybelline Great Lash mascara for I don’t know how many years, so this was different for me. Rather than a simple straight brush, the bristles were cut so that the brush had a wave to it.

I can’t tell you how impressed I am with the mascara. I don’t notice flaking or smudges throughout the day, like I have battled with when using other mascaras in the past.

And I’ve actually come to love the brush – I think the shape helps apply the mascara to the lashes from different angles, giving a more voluminous look! I was impressed that Beautycounter’s Volumizing Mascara added not only volume, but length too!
